| Most of us have seen on news a sinkhole in other parts of the U.S.  In particular, I am thinking of Florida, where yards, streets and homes have simply disappeared.  In my 32 years in the insurance business I can not recall a sinkhole claim;  therefore, the probability is slim.
In Missouri, I have found very few homeowner companies include sinkhole coverage.  In a sense it is an earth movement; however, I am not saying it's included under earthquake.  If it were included under earthquake, obviously a homeowner policy's earthquake deductible comes into play which generally is 10-20% of the amount of dwelling coverage.   This agency does have access to the Missouri Fair Plan and they write a stand-a-lone sinkhole policy costing $313 in 2016 for a $200,000 policy.
