Before heading off on a vacation do yourself and the insurance companies a favor and turn your water off at the source. Many homeowner water claims occur from broken pipes, such as: water line behind toilet, frozen water pipe, water hose behind washing machine etc. If you are gone for a weekend, a week or longer the number of gallons of water which will pour into your living area will amount to hundreds and/or thousands.
