| In 2017 do I have to have Affordable Care Act Insurance to avoid the Penalty or can a Short Term Policy suffice?  A Short Term Policy is a good alternative it does cost less; although, does not provide the necessary essential elements(such as maternity, pre-existing conditions are NOT covered).  The positive items is it may be purchase anytime throughout the year rather than just available during open enrollment.  Short-Term policies can meet a short term need such as fill a 2 month void of coverage.
United Health Care is my source for Short-Term Policies, they offer a number of programs, deductibles and 1-6 month policies are available.  Please contact Flanigan Insurance @ 314-727-6000 if you would like more information or a quote.
