Review Auto Insurance Liability Limits

A client asked me, I carry 50/100/50 liability limits, is that adequate?  This is a loaded question, I would say yes it is adequate if a minor accident occurs; however, if a major accident occurs you better hope your policy limits are not exhausted....if so any awards over the limits will have to come out of YOUR pocket.  A Missouri auto policy declaration page shows you exactly what coverage's you carry and the maximum limits your company is on the hook for, judgement or awards over the policy limits are on YOU.

I'd highly recommend taking out limits of 500/500/250 or Combined Single Limit of $500,000 plus an Umbrella policy.   When shopping for car insurance a person needs to look at many liability limits, not just state minimum limits.
